 The Allianz Mecsek-Rallye is
’prying’ to organize the Historic Rallye-Europe League Round, which is backed
by MNASZ, the organizer of the Rallye and the racers. It is the greatest cooperation
of recent times in the history of the Hungarian rallye sport. The workgroup of
the MNASZ Historic rallye has motivated every racer and the organizer knocked
off half of the registration fee. As a result of this, a record number of 17
pairs can start the 8th and 9th league rounds. The Historic will start before
the first-class field in order to raise the standards of the Rallye.

 This year the 42nd Allianz Rallye, the most prestigous Hungarian
rallye, is held at an unusual time, in the middle of summer, namely
this weekend. At the press conference held in the Bellagio Restaurant
in Pécs on Wednesday the organizers of this popular event announced
that 157 registrations had been submitted to the Rallye. The total
distance of the race is 665 kms, the speed sections of which are 155
kms for the rallye-1 racers, and 76 kms for second-class racers. The
race will start with the traditional qualifying heat at the car park of
Pécs Plaza at 3 p.m. on Friday.

 After the shingly by-pass at Veszprém, Rallye 2 is held again in
the race-courses of the Mecsek Mountains within the confines of the
42nd Allianz Rallye. 33 pairs ( instead of the 38 having registered
previously) appeared at the administrative and technical acceptance on
Friday morning, 16 of them will come up to the scratch in the field of
the F-group, which is continuously growing in number.
